Pay Status: Hourly

Location: 615 Amherst Street, Nashua, Nh

The Job

This position serves an amazingly unique Residential Program, providing lunch and dinner for an average of 30 people a day, Monday through Friday (no nights/weekends/holidays). In this role, you would be the sole culinary employee, with full reign of the kitchen and what is turned out. There is no front of the house, only back of the house, and that’s YOU!

Harbor Care, formerly known as Harbor Homes and the Partnership for Successful Living affiliates, is an innovative health and human services non-profit organization that provides housing, healthcare, home health, behavioral health, addiction treatment, and more in collaboration with many community partners. Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and cook meals, Monday through Friday, lunch and dinner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Handle food items with care, ensuring proper storage and sanitation practices are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards within the kitchen environment

Job Requirements

  • Strong background in food preparation and cooking for larger groups (30-40).
  • Five (5) or more years culinary or restaurant experience.
  • Familiarity with the process of utilizing vendors, negotiating for the best deal, etc.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
  • ServSafe Certification required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience meal planning within a budget.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license; this position requires trips to the Food Bank, Grocery Stores, etc; Use of a Company vehicle is offered.
