Job Description

Position Summary: COTA will provide services to inpatients, outpatients and for patient populations in which WRHS has entered into a contractual agreement with.  This may include public schools, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.  Staff member will be licensed in accordance with state laws and requirements.  Job duties will include helping patients perform exercises or treatment plans, recording a patients’ health and progress, collecting patients’ medical history, and assisting with arranging plan of care for patients.  Occupational Therapy Assistants are responsible for treating patients with therapeutic activities, exercise, and self care tasks, and modalities as deemed appropriate per OTR. COTA is required to work in accordance with medical staff and fellow ancillary staff within the rehab department. COTA to reports directly to OTR.

  • Monitoring a patient’s progress to makes sure that they’re successfully completing treatment
  • Encouraging the patient during their recovery process
  • Helping patients to improve their quality of life by finding solutions to their problems
  • Helping injured employees improve their function to re-enter the workforce
  • Teaching patients to become more independent
  • Updating patient records for the OTR
  • Keeping the office, treatment room, and equipment in good order
  • Teaching patients, family member, or caregivers skills and techniques to help with the patient’s treatment program
Essential Job Requirements:
Education:  Associates degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant, recognized by ACOTE
(Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education)
Experience:  New graduates acceptable for consideration
License Requirements:  Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of ND

Normal working hours: 8am - 5pm
Assist w/ holiday & weekend coverage
Starting salary range: $20.77 - $25.62
